SNOWSHOE HIKING AROUND FONT-ROMEU
Everyday during the winter season the Sun Valley Hotel suggests whole or half days of snowshoe hiking with our mountain guide.
You will spend unforgettable moments with JEAN-LOUIS discovering wonderful landscapes and following animal tracks. The equipment is included.
However you can also discover another kind of winter sport :
Becareful, only experienced well-trained skiers with appropriate equipment can participate to such activities.
You can rent the skis, shoes and seal skin at the hotel. At least 4 people are required for this activity.

With Jean-Louis, our qualified mountain guide, you will discover true nature.
Looking for wildlife tracks, for deers, mouflons, wildboars, the mysterious Capercaillie or Wood Grouse.
Each new landscape will appear greater than the one before, with sunsets such as you've never seen, in a protected nature.
First day : on your arrival late in the afternoon you will first take your room before a welcome apéritif, then diner will be served in the evening.
Second day : after breakfast you will go swimming in the warm mineral spring waters of Dores or Saint Thomas Les Bains. After lunch at the hotel you will go snowshoe hiking in the afternoon.
Third day : Morning is free. You will take your lunch at the hotel, then in the afternoon, you will go snowshoe hiking with our guide.
Fourth day : After breakfast you will leave for a whole day of snowshoe hiking with a picnic basket for lunch.
Fifth day : After breakfast you will fo for a morning of snowshoe hiking, take your lunch at the hotel then you will have a free relaxing afternoon. If you are interested you will go by coach to the Pas de la Case, in Andorre, 40 km avay.
Sixth day : After breakfast you will leave for a whole day of snowshoe hiking with a picnic basket for lunch.
Seventh day : End of stay after breakfast

Ski touring in the Catalan Pyrénées is a very good mean to change from cross-country skiing or snowshoe hiking. Skiing up the summits a qualified mountain guide will show you nature in winter. You will enjoy complete freedom and of course on your way back you will appreciate skiing down the snowy slopes. An easy activity which requires however good knowledge of Alpine skiing.
At least 4 people are required.
1st day : after arriving late in the afternoon you will take your room and skiing equipment (skis, shoes, seal skins, knives). After a welcome aperitif you will have diner at the hotel.
2nd day : a whole day hiking. You will take away your picnic basket. For your first day hiking, this 600m elevation will help you get fit.
3rd day : a whole day kiking on more slopy tracks will take you up to the site of Les Bouillouses.
4th day : the Puigmal Mountains with about 1000m elevation seem the right place to go on this third hiking day.
5th day : a well-deserved day of rest on which you will have the possibility to go by coach to Andorre.
6th day : you will end this ski hiking week skiing up the Peric Summit.
7th day : departure day.
